What to expect at a U.S. border/immigration inspection

The Buffalo News recently published an article detailing the U.S. immigration inspection process.  The article not only covers primary inspection but also what people can expect if they are referred for a secondary inspection.  The article also provides readers with "potential red flags" that may lead U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers to refer individuals for secondary inspection, i.e.: answering questions vaguely; one person answering for everyone in the car; etc.
